Dukes Meadows a Space to Play Everyone Needs It

The official opening of the new £450,000 Adventure Play Area on Wednesday 31st March, which was the culmination of over three years work.

Local children led the opening ceremony, assisted by the Mayor of Hounslow, Paul Lynch and a commemorative plaque was unveiled to acknowledge the support of the funders who contributed to the project.

The children then participated in a storytelling activity run by the arts charity, Create, who have delivered a number of successful workshops to encourage local able-bodied and disabled children to co-operate and play together.

The Trust’s Chair Kathleen Healy said: "We are a small community charity and this is a great achievement for everyone involved, young people from the local area and from the Croft Centre have shown great commitment in helping shape the design for the space and then sticking with us for the years it has taken to raise the funds and build the play area, we are really proud of them. We hope that people will enjoy using the space"

The play area has been specifically designed to cater for children of mixed abilities and ages, and as such is unique in the local area.
